How Rachel Got Here

It started with a moment of frustration. Rachel was working in corporate communications at a multinational tech firm in Singapore when she watched brilliant engineers, talented project managers, and innovative thinkers absolutely struggle to present their ideas. They’d freeze. Stammer. Let their anxiety override their expertise. She knew something had to change.

That frustration became fuel. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), then spent three years deepening her understanding of how people communicate under pressure. In 2014, she earned her Toastmasters International Speaker Coach certification — a credential that meant real hours of practice, real feedback, and real commitment to mastering the craft of public speaking.

Since then, Rachel’s worked with thousands of professionals. First-time presenters who’d never spoken in public. Senior executives refining their presence. Teams learning to communicate across cultures in Singapore’s diverse business environment. She’s run workshops across CBD corporations, Raffles Place offices, and Toastmasters chapters island-wide.

What drives her is simple: watching someone find their authentic voice. That moment when nervousness transforms into presence. When someone realizes they don’t need to sound like anyone else — they just need to sound like themselves. That’s why she does this.

Rachel’s Coaching Approach

Real Techniques for Real People

Rachel doesn’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. Every person who comes to her has different challenges, different goals, different personalities. Some people are naturally quiet and need to find their voice. Others are naturally loud and need to learn when to listen. That’s why she builds custom programs.

Her methods combine evidence-based psychology with practical, live practice. You’re not just learning theory — you’re standing up, speaking, getting real feedback, and building muscle memory. Because that’s how confidence actually develops. Not from reading about it. From doing it.

Singapore-Focused, Globally Relevant

She works with Singapore’s specific context. Multicultural teams. Different communication styles across cultures. The unique pressure of doing business in a global financial hub. Her workshops and coaching account for this reality. The techniques work in a boardroom in Raffles Place and in front of a Toastmasters audience in Bukit Timah.

The Authentic Voice Matters Most

Rachel’s not here to turn you into someone else. She’s here to help you become a better version of yourself as a communicator. That means working with your natural style, your personality, your strengths. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s presence, clarity, and genuine connection with your audience.

Q&A

Questions About Rachel’s Work

What makes Rachel’s coaching different from other communication trainers?

Rachel combines three things most trainers don’t: deep understanding of Singapore’s business context, hands-on practice in every session, and focus on your authentic voice rather than a scripted persona. She’s also worked directly with Toastmasters chapters, so she understands both individual coaching and group dynamics. Most importantly, she doesn’t treat everyone the same — your program is built around your specific challenges and goals.

Can Rachel help if I’m completely terrified of public speaking?

Yes, absolutely. In fact, that’s where a lot of her work starts. Severe stage fright is common, and it’s not something to feel ashamed about. Rachel’s trained hundreds of people who’d never spoken in public before. She knows the exact techniques that work — breathing exercises, visualization, reframing anxiety, gradual exposure. She’s seen people go from “I can’t even think about speaking” to confidently presenting to their teams. It takes patience and practice, but it works.

How long does it usually take to see real improvement?

Most people notice changes in 4-6 weeks if they’re practicing between sessions. Real confidence — the kind that sticks — usually develops over 3-6 months with consistent coaching. It depends on where you’re starting and how much you practice. The key is that improvement is gradual and cumulative. You’re not going to suddenly become fearless, but you’ll notice each week you’re a little more prepared, a little calmer, a little more clear.

Do you offer group workshops or just one-on-one coaching?

Both. Rachel offers individual coaching for specific needs — that’s where you get the most personalized attention. She also runs group workshops for organizations, teams, and Toastmasters chapters. Group workshops are great for building team culture around communication and giving people a supportive environment to practice. She can customize either format based on what you’re trying to achieve.

What if I work in a specific industry or have unique communication challenges?

That’s actually Rachel’s specialty. She’s worked with engineers who struggle with storytelling, finance professionals who need to communicate complex ideas simply, healthcare workers managing difficult conversations, and sales teams building genuine relationships. She’ll learn about your industry, your challenges, your goals, and build your coaching program around that reality. One-size-fits-all training doesn’t work — custom coaching does.

Can Rachel work with teams at CBD and Raffles Place organizations?

Yes. She’s delivered workshops and coaching programs across numerous CBD and Raffles Place corporations. She understands the fast-paced environment, the pressure, the diverse teams, and the communication challenges unique to Singapore’s financial and business hub. She can come on-site, work with your team, and create a program that fits your company culture and specific needs.
